Exxon’s Exodus
Interesting Article. Touches a lot of real time pressure points not only for super majors, but the industry as a whole. If you can see through the obvious bias knowing who’s written the article, and where they’re bets are, it honestly jumps across many familiar topics we all experience throughout Houston, Texas, and the far reaches of O/G where most are currently entrenched.
Some excerpts, if not most, are borderline malicious and one sighted, but it hits a quiet truth. An underlying positive that honestly made me feel good about this hit piece.
The fact that A M has been strangling the Houston business blood line for such a long time. Somehow, the cumulative events from 2018-2021 have created a silent wave of change for a lot of TTU alums in the wake of A M and other higher Ed green bloods who have participated in this Exodus. Our guys who have been doing it the hard way for almost 2 decades are now getting a chance to jump in roles that were otherwise taken by the formerly mentioned, are now getting paid well, and honestly cultivating a fresh yet hard nosed, experience weighted culture.
I spoke to a few after this article was published and I’m stoked for their opportunity to showcase what Texas Tech is all about.
