NC Lameduck Republicans

Try to strip power from the Democratic governor in Hurricane relief bill after they lose elections in NC.

Republican lawmakers in North Carolina plan to transfer authority over the state’s Board of Elections to the state auditor’s office, a move that will place administration and appointment of its members under GOP purview.

Changes would make it harder for people who use absentee ballots to have their votes count .

The plan, included in a bill that also funds further aid for Hurricane Helene relief, would further strip power from the governor’s office, which currently has appointment power and will remain in Democratic control under Governor-elect Josh Stein.

[Editor’s note: Other provisions in the 132-page proposal (which was drafted in secret and cannot, as a conference committee report, be amended) would make significant changes to public education, law enforcement, the duties of the attorney general, environmental protection, public utility oversight, and the state judiciary. NC Newsline will provide summaries of proposed law changes in these and other areas as soon as possible.]

The measure also grants Auditor-elect Dave Boliek, a Republican, new jurisdiction after he defeated Auditor Jessica Holmes and flipped control of an office held by Democrats since 2009.

The board’s powers would remain independent of the auditor’s office, according to the bill, but its budgeting and appointments would fall under the direction of the auditor. The auditor’s ability to make appointments would start on May 1, 2025.

Staff at the State Board of Elections were presented with the bill Tuesday morning, spokesperson Pat Gannon said in an email to NC Newsline. He confirmed that if the changes were made law, control of the state board could change hands.

Billy Klapper from Pampa, Tx in Yellowstone

He was famous for his Spurs and horse bits. Just wondering if anyone here had ever come across him. We have a ranch in the Panhandle and I have lots of relatives that knew him. He passed away on September 10th, 2024. My Uncle purchased some of his bits and spurs 45 years ago and he still has them. Apparently, he was pretty legendary! I know there are some Red Raiders that post here that grew up in the Panhandle.

The Trump Trials

Someone had to make this thread.

So. . . where do we start?

I’ll go first.

Why would Mark Meadow’s plea down to lesser charges and obtain immunity against Trump, the most honest President in the history of America, who is completely innocent and was “totally exonerated.”

Democrat Gerrymandering Suppresses GOP House Majority

With a tiny handful of votes to be counted and races to be certified, House Republicans have won a majority of the national 'popular' vote, outperforming Democrats by ~4.5 million ballots. For reference, 2010, R's won 242 seats (netting 63!) with 51.7% of the national vote. This year, they will barely have a majority, with roughly 50.7% of the total vote. Dem gerrymanders have worked. Not sure if that qualifies as a "threat to democracy," or if that term is reserved for things that upset liberals.

Democrats Openly Committing Election Fraud

Democrats are openly trying to steal the senate seat in Pennsylvania. Even after the race has been called. This is not a controversial statement. This is simply a statement of fact.

Read this, research it and you will find the county commissioners saying they know they are committing fraud and dont care and say for a court to come stop them. Your jaw will drop.

I have seen some guys on here post about him who follow high school football.

How many shits do you take per day? (IBS)

Over the past few years I’ve noticed my shit routine has gone from 2 a day to 4-5 per day. I’m sure it’s because of my diet (not healthy) but I’m also thinking I might have some form of IBS. Curious of others’ poop patterns and if I’m not alone with the shit every 4 hours.

Tonight we went to Marty B’s in Bartonville. I ate some cheese fries, wings, etc. dipping them all in their jalapeño ranch. Soon as we got in the truck my stomach started doing backflips. Went to Chick-fil-A for ice cream after and I had to hover shit in the bathroom because I didn’t have enough time to wipe down the seat. The shits have hit me like a freight train lately.

Also curious how many times per week you almost shit your pants. I average about 2 where I’m pulling my pants down before the door closes.

Thanks

Thought about waiting until after Friday to post this but what the hell I love KP. We moved up a bit after throttling Bethune, currently #11. Crazy that 11 puts us at #4 in the b12.

Not going to read a lot into any of the stats yet except for one thing I think is interesting. We rank 16 in D-1 experience with 2.85 years. I like being an older team, especially come tournament time. I know McCasland built the roster that way by design but I really like the philosophy.

Coming up is Northwestern State (#327).
