Sports Stars Off-Field Business Earnings

Interesting data... Also, did not notice the highest paid NFL player on the list.

Sports stars with the highest off-field business earnings

Athletes often become brand ambassadors to earn additional income from their success in sports. A certain athlete's endorsement of a product can lead to an increase in sales for that product or products. Because of their success, personality, or charisma, sports personalities make great endorsers of sports-related companies, such as Nike and Adidas.
Many athletes are also paid to endorse beauty products, fashion lines, nutritional products, sports betting apps, electronic gaming developers, and even hotels and gyms. Furthermore, many athletes and celebrities also engage in business ventures, including buying stakes in companies or investing in start-ups. Some sports personalities also start their own companies, such as media companies and fashion brands.
OLBG examines the highest-earning athletes off the field, from tennis stars to NFL legends. It's not only sports stars who make money through business, though.

Athletes who earned the most from business in 2024

LeBron James

On top of this, the basketball megastar also has a number of business ventures away from the court, which all play a significant part in his current earnings.
Lionel Messi

Off-Field Earnings - $70,000,000

In 2024, Lionel Messi earned $70 million off the field through a mix of endorsements, business ventures, and investments. His major deals with Adidas, PepsiCo, and Budweiser are key contributors to this year's earnings, along with his own clothing line, "The Messi Store," and hotel chain, "MiM Hotels." The former La Liga star also invested in real estate and media ventures, adding to his income. Justin Herbert - $11,000,000 Off-Field Earnings

Soccer players who earned the most from business in 2024

Soccer is undoubtedly one of the most popular sports in the world, with millions of devoted fans around the globe. It's also one of the most profitable sports, with top players earning vast sums regularly. In this section, OLBG looks at some of the highest earners in football and uncovers why they are so successful. From lucrative contracts to international endorsements, these players have built impressive financial empires that keep them firmly at the top of their game.
Lionel Messi - $70,000,000 Off-Field Earnings
Lionel Messi has pulled clear at the top after earning $70 million during 2024. This means the Argentine no longer has to share the mantle of top soccer earner off the field with Cristiano Ronaldo. Along with the $70 million earned off the field, the Inter Miami forward also earned $65 million on it, giving him total earnings of $135 million.
Cristiano Ronaldo - $60,000,000 Off-Field Earnings
He may have had a disappointing Euro 2024, but $60 million worth of off-field earnings will go some way to softening the blow for Cristiano Ronaldo. As of 2024, Ronaldo's net worth is approximately $500 million while plying his trade with Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr. The mercurial Portuguese forward earned $60 million off the field through endorsements with brands like Nike and Herbalife. Ronaldo also profits from his CR7 business, which includes clothing and fragrances, as well as real estate investments.
Neymar Jr. - $28,000,000 Off-Field Earnings
Although still absent due to a long-term injury, Neymar still earns big money while sitting on the sidelines. As of 2024, Neymar's net worth is around $200 million and he is contracted to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. He earned $28 million off the field through major endorsements with brands like Puma and Red Bull. Neymar also benefits from his Neymar Jr. brand, which includes clothing and other products. Considering his on-field salary is a cool $80 million, his additional interests can be considered a nice little top up to his bank account.

OT: Rebel Ridge on Netflix

Didn't see this mentioned elsewhere, but if you need a break from football, check this one out. Netflix originals are really hit or miss, but this one is pretty great. It's about really corrupt small-town cops and has some Rambo-ish vibes. Don Johnson is steadily rising the ranks of best movie villains, and doesn't disappoint in this one.

Check it out if you're a good movie enjoyer!

STORY: Kenny Perry ponders Kelly's punt return decisions, kicking competition pres. by Prosper Energy Management

Here's some interesting quotes on special teams from Kenny Perry this afternoon. @J. Ramirez will have another story off this interview tomorrow.

How does the kicking battle continue?
"We're 100% so it's going to continue. Those two, they're doing everything. The coolest part about those guys, you know, you guys are aware, specialists are a little bit different breed. We've got a great group of specialists. So those two, they just feed off each other. And you know, Reese going to get his opportunities. Gino is going to get his opportunities. Reese is going to kickoff like he's been. Stone finally kicked one right, he's got a huge leg that first time we put him in there, first game, kind of freaked out. So I want to give him another chance, because he's another young kid that's got a really big leg. So I like giving everyone a shot. You know, these kids work hard to get a chance, and it's good to have a game like that where I could feel comfortable doing that."

How do Reese and Gino push one another?

"I hope they do, because I've created competition with them since last spring. But they don't act like it. I mean, they like each other, they help each other out, they hang out. So it's not a situation where, you know, you remember Roger Staubach and whoever he got into a fight with back in the 70s. it's not one of those situations. But, you know, I just love being around them.

Is there a kicker that has the bigger leg, like if you faced a 50-plus yarder?
"You know what? They're both pretty much the same. They both can hit the ball 50 plus. So you know, once you want to be whoever's up, and then the next one, if he makes it or misses it, and that next guy's gonna get the next chance at it."

Have you discussed how this may end? Does it just end if a guy misses one kick?

"I'll just kind of move on. They know it, it's about performance. You miss a 50 something yard field goal, that's a different deal. The hardest part of me is, you know, those 40 yard field goals, those are the ones we got to make, you know, we kick a field goal under 40 yards. That's the ones. You know, you kick some over that, obviously, their odds go down. Coach has done a good job with those kicks this year, you know, we've given them opportunities to hit some kicks and get on a roll. Your first kick being a 58 yard kick out of the box, and you know that's nothing comes good after that."

How have you felt about Josh Kelly as a punt returner? I saw you got Drae in the game late on Saturday.

"You know, we're trying to get Drae some more touches back there, because, you know, people aren't going to kick to him, and I don't blame them. But Josh, you know, we gotta work on some decisions. That's probably been the biggest. We gotta help him blocking wise, but we've made some bad decisions back there. Now, decisions. When I say bad decisions, Josh is trying to make a play. It's a big difference of, you know, just not knowing and trying to make a play. However, that affects you and affects your field position, which you guys know, I'm a big deal on that. And so we've got to get better helping him clear lanes, and then he's got to make better decisions. And then, yeah, we're trying to get Dre, you know, just more comfortable back there. So we'll see what happens."

On Kelly's return at Washington State where he picked it up at the two, would you have preferred him to just let it get downed?
"You just gotta live with that, you know, kind of what went against us on that type deal. You just don't want to get into habit of doing that, because bad things happen. We just gotta make better decisions. He knows that. I know that. But yeah, that's that happens sometimes, and you just, you know, good, good kick by them."

OT Yeti Customer Service (good)

I’ll go ahead and say I’ve been a yeti fan boy since the original YouTube commercials. I had the m30 hopper from when it came out 10+ years ago and after our Labor Day trip, it finally gave out. Zipper was already ripping and then it finally just popped off when trying to zip it back up.

I didn’t exactly treat it very well, either. So I go into the yeti store in Houston yesterday to send it in. The manager was fantastic, gave my girls some free stickers, and told me she’d get back to me by Wednesday.

She just emailed me letting me know that they are sending me a brand new m30 and are retiring my old one as long as I was okay with it. Such a quick and easy experience where everyone was pleasant.

Figured I’d share some positive experiences with a company when we tend to have so many bad ones. Thank you for coming to my dear facebook.
