STORY: Fear the Dark: Texas Tech hosts Baylor in night game at the Jones

What do y'all think? What are you most excited to see? How close will the game be and what are your score predictions?
You can probably tell from my final score prediction, but I'm feeling pretty good about this one.

Ronald Ross has a new job

WVU weekend was great!

So this past weekend wound up being pretty cool.

The week itself was a little crazy:
Mon drive from DFW to Midland for work
Mon evening drive to Lubbock
Tuesday funeral for childhood friend, drive back to Midland
Thursday drive to Waco for oldest son’s performance at Baylor
Thursday night drive out near Groesbeck
Fri 5AM depart for Lubbock
Sunday drive from Lubbock to Ft Stockton for work.

Got to bring my youngest son (Jr in HS)
to campus on Fri for a tour and the game on Saturday.

Thought we were going to get some Level tidbits on Fri at Rudy’s but I was off a week so we hung out for a while w Zach Kittley for a bit.

In addition we were able to bring my FIL to the game and a backstage tour of the football facility.

FIL was in the same class as Dave Parks and Donny Anderson, the first class to be in SWC for their entire time. He was the “fish” for EJ Holub and had to carry his pads, etc.

So I’m pretty much TT football royalty by way of marriage. (He broke a bone in his back before his sophomore season so never got to play past the freshman team but was All-City in Dallas and recruited by all the SWC schools).

We contacted the Letterman’s club and Rodney Allison arranged everything. On Friday Rodney drove us around and took us through the facility.

Told Rodney I threw many a TD pass in the front yard pretending to be him. Him: Well you probably threw a lot of interceptions too then. (True)

When we pulled up McGuire was walking out and came over to speak w us for a few minutes. Everything @GCRRFan said about him is true. Total man-crush.

Son was jacked and FIL was very impressed. McGuire said “I don’t know if we’ll win, but I do know we’ll fight.” #FhoughYeah

Met Sammy Morris in the facility and I’m pretty sure he could still play.

FIL and Rodney were talking about how the weight room was back in their days and how we were going to redo the South endzone

Then we went to the Womble and got the backstage tour there. Didn’t get to meet Adams but did watch a bunch of the practice. Pops is legit, Tyson can shoot the ball and we’re gonna stomp some folks.

FIL left to go back to the hotel and son and I grabbed some scooters and gave ourselves a tour of the campus. Sadly no scenery on Stangel Beach. :(

Hit the bonfire later then son went out w his cousins for some fun.

Saturday we went to the Raider Red statue dedication and that was really enjoyable. Ran into tons of old friends (was fortunate to be a cheerleader and Tramp way back) and loved reconnecting.

@carnley09 was kind enough to let us use his seats for this game and we had a great time. The guys behind us commented on how much more well-behaved we were compared to the people that usually sit in these seats.

FIL got to sit w the high $$ folks in the west side suites.

Game was great and FIL was over the moon w everything which meant the world to me.

Thanks again to @carnley09, McGuire, Rodney Allison and the ancillary staffers that helped us have an unforgettable experience.

Wreck ‘em!

TL;DR?
I’m an awesome SIL
