Lubbock Sherriff's Office SWAT Robot in action yesterday

Found this comment on Reddit:

Oh my gosh! I helped film this for my tv station! The guy was shot at the time, that’s why he’s stumbling about. He tried to cover the bomb squad’s robot with a sheet because it was trying to throw tear gas inside. Then he came out of the room because the gas was deployed. While he was down I heard on one of the officers radios that he was going to run him over. Everyone started laughing, it really lifted the seriousness of the situation.

SIAP: Ten Years Ago Today (September 18, 2014)

From ESPN:

Texas Tech fired defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt on Thursday after the coach was suspected of being at the school's football building while under the influence of a controlled substance, sources told ESPN.com.

Wallerstedt was sent home from the facility Monday, according to a source.

The Red Raiders surrendered 438 rushing yards in a 49-28 loss to Arkansas last weekend, but the team's on-field performance was not related to Wallerstedt's dismissal, sources said.

CoachingSearch.com first reported the firing Thursday.

Wallerstedt joined the Texas Tech staff last season, coming over from Texas A&M along with head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Wallerstedt is expected to be replaced by co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Mike Smith, who played for the Red Raiders and graduated from Texas Tech in 2004.

Smith will be Texas Tech's seventh defensive coordinator since 2007.

The Red Raiders are off this weekend, before traveling to play Oklahoma State next Thursday night.

Something of possible interest

In the Ft Worth paper, an article where someone said SMU and TCU would no longer be important programs that can support top level football.

Well as to SMU possibly true with Cowboys in the area and North Texas , and UT Arlington.

I think Dykes can recruit and pay players and do better than average. TCU is very very expensive . However, the recruiting base in DFW and nearby is second only to Houston in USA I have read. What say you. Hubcity
