I like what we are doing and I think it boils down to the fact that it is very different from what we've done even since the end of the Leach era until last year....and anything different is good. We have been trying to take the "next step" into recruiting the big boys and we've been either whiffing in the end or getting questionable 4 star players that other big programs likely cooled on due to flakiness ie (Pearlie Graves, Delvon Simmons, etc, etc.)

We are doing what we did in the early 2000's. Snatching up hard working, low risk, solid Texas HS football players that are unlikely to be all out busts. This should start to provide us reliable depth across the board. Our success will be dependent on talent evaluation and scheme more than relying on some big names to try and come in and carry us.

We have not had an identity in recruiting in the last several years and if we did, it was one of desperation it seems. Now it seems like we have a plan and a goal that we can achieve and we are executing that plan. It may or may not work, but at least it is attainable where as hoping for pie in the sky probably wasn't.
