WVU's offense is very productive. It makes ours look pedestrian. Of course, our offense this Saturday -- with a new QB and with the ridiculous tempo that we broke out against Oklahoma State -- will be much different than it was against, say, UH or @ NC State.
But no matter how you slice it, only the biggest homers on this board are taking our offense right now over what WVU is rolling out there. Their production can't be ignored, and neither can our overall ineptitude.
Defensive Points Per Drive:
Texas Tech - 2.42 points allowed per possession. 80th in the country.
(conf only) - 2.84 points allowed per drive. 7th in the conference.

(conf only) - 31.6% of conf. opponents' possessions are TDs. 6th in the league (ahead of Baylor).
West Virginia - 43.1% of possessions end with opponents running a TD play. 122nd in the country.
(conf only) - 54.8% of drives end with opponent TD. Last.... worse than OU.
Defensive Turnover Percentage:
Texas Tech - 9.4% of opponents' possessions end with a turnover. 96th in the country.
(conf. only) - 7.9% -- 7th in the conference.
West Virginia - 9.8% of opponents' possessions end with a turnover. 89th in the country.
(conf. only) - 9.7% -- 5th.
Defensive Yards Per Play:
Texas Tech - 5.61 yards allowed per play. 52nd in the country.
West Virginia - 7.28 yards allowed per play. 127th in the country.
This legitimately might be the worst defense Tech's played in a home conference game in a long, long time. I'd have to really think about that one. A little over 28% of WVU's defensive snaps have resulted in a 10 yard or more gain. That is impossibly bad.
Whoever starts at QB for this game will have a big advantage over the others with how easy it should be to move the football. It should be the best game, on paper at least, that our QB has played all year. That should be the expectation.
Ryan left it all out on the field in everything he did. In his honor, we bring you Fields of Gold, so that others facing bone cancer can keep on playing. A portion of proceeds from every case sold is donated to The Little Warrior Foundation.
