Has your win prediction changed?

I know some were thinking 9+ wins to start the season and then 3 wins quickly became the loudest prediction after the Wazzou game. Has your prediction changed from start of the season to now?

I've always been a 6-8 win predictor and haven't really waivered. I knew the youth of the two deep would cause a lot of lows and highs and that winning on the road would be difficult. We have struggled to win away from home with an experienced team so I knew the young guys would have trouble too. So I think that win prediction is still true even after 5 games. I'll say that they have performed better than I thought they would be without Dylan Spencer, Adedire and even without Lux for a couple of games as well as a make shift offensive line. If you would've told me that this is what the health of the team would be after 5 games I'd have said we'd be 4-2 at best. I don't think going 6-6/7-5/8-4 is a terrible season given the amount of inexperience, particularly on defense. And quite a bit of our age/experience is from transfers that need time to gel together.

  • No. I am not ready to jump back on board with this team. Too many question marks.

  • I'm feeling it. I need a road win to become a believer. Still looking at a 6-6 or 7-5 type season.

  • The league QB play has been inconsistent. This team will improve to 8-4 this year.

  • Big 12 rosters thin, Morton looking good. With this schedule, 9-3 or better is a real possibility.

After the UNT game a little over half of everyone that responded were in a wait and see mode. Wanted to see how we did in these last 2 games before we got our hopes up for this season.

We won them both and are 4-1/2-0 and our first conference road game is up next.

TTU Coaches' Winning % Improvement

Below I've listed the difference in conference winning percentage from each TTU coach's first two seasons + first two games in the 3rd year (where Joey is today) versus the conference winning percentage of the previous 3 seasons.

The real measure of a debate is voters you gain. After the Presidential Debate though, I’m not expecting this debate to have any impact on voter/polls. So straight up in a head to head debate, who wins on Tuesday?

RECRUITING: Westlake 2026 QB Rees Wise

with Jake Fette going off the board to Arizona State last week, there was discussion around the remaining 2026 targets and this visit from Wise suggests the coaches are 'higher' on him compared to the other group of offers

I personally reached out to every other 2026 offer and did not necessarily get the vibe that many of them were actively speaking with the coaches on a weekly basis or much at all, which continues to suggest that Wise might be becoming QB target No. 1 for the 26' class

I'm working to speak with Wise and get more feedback, but wanted to share this note.

Arizona assistant football coaches

Did this a couple weeks ago with ASU. There weren't many assistants on Cincy's staff that really caught my eye last week as someone with an interesting background. But several on the UA staff have interesting backgrounds.

Defensive Coordinator-- Duane Akina. Longtime former Texas assistant and President of the Tech Hater Club.

Dino Babers-- Offensive Coordinator. Former Syracuse HC and assistant coach for Art Briles in the early days at Baylor. Babers actually didn't call plays last week against Utah. Tight Ends coach, Matt Adkins called the plays in that one. Something to follow going into this weekend.

Danny Gonzales-- Special Teams Coordinator/Linebackers Coach. Former University of New Mexico Head Coach.

Carson Bicknell-- Special Teams Analyst. Former assistant coach at East Mississippi Community College where he coached former Tech great Dakota Allen. Can't confirm, but doesn't seem to be any relation to former (for a couple days) Tech offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr.

Ty Nichols-- Defensive Analyst/Football Analytics. Tech grad and a Idalou native.

Ricky Hunley-- Executive Director of Player Relations and External Development. Former long time NFL player and coach.

OT: Barn Dance and BBQ Dinner

As some posters know and some dont my family has had a ranch south of San Angelo for over 100 years. Its where I grew up and its a huge part of who I am and how I live my life. Anyways my dad, pre kids(my brother and I), started throwing a party back in the early 80's at our ranch that he and now we help host with other couples who are friends of ours or my dad. We had about 325 people out Saturday night for the 2024 version and we cooked 130 pounds of brisket, 60 pounds of sausage, and 6 goats. Other menu items included beans, potato salad, and jalapeno cream corn. We provide all the cold beer and have bar tenders set up in one of the stalls with the neon lights if liquor/wine/mix drinks are your thing. We have a band that plays from about 8 till midnight and use our sheep sheering slab as the dance floor. I got too busy drinkin and talking to get picture/videos of the band playing unfortunately.

One of my personal missions this year was to update our beer sign decorations. Found all the guitars and signs across the country and acquired them over about the last 12 months. Saturday night was capped off by the Tech Win!!!

Also shoutout to my good buddy @Matador1233 for making it out.
