I've seen staff and others state that the defense next year is going to be YOUNG. I'm curious as to why this is being said. Are we talking about just the starting 11 on defense, or the 2-deep? Are we talking age or experience?

As I fast-forward and look at the projected starters, I see an older and more experienced starting defense than what we rolled out there this year.

2016 Defense:
End - Gary Moore (4th yr Jr, but not nearly as experienced or good as Pete R.)
N - Ondre Pipkins (probably older and more experienced than Rika)
T - Breiden Fehoko (wouldn't call him old, would just stick to "sir")
Ban - Kolin Hill (3rd yr in college, plenty of snaps at ND)
Will - Malik Jenkins (Sr with 32 games played)
Mike - Dakota Allen (3rd yr with full year of exp)
Sam - D'Vonta Hinton (2nd yr with full year of exp)
FC - Justis Nelson (Sr. with tons of exp)
FS - Jah'Shawn Johnson (Jr. with 1 full season of starting)
SS - Keenon Ward (5th yr Sr. with 34 games played)
BC - Nigel Bethel (3rd yr Jr., career starter)
