BECAUSE THERE IS A GAME TONIGHT, BABY!
You may now know this but I follow Tech basketball, and tonight they have a game in Oklahoma City against the plummeting Oklahoma Sooners.
OU has dropped 3 straight and the only straight they are in is dire. They have a gifted offensive player in Manek, though most of the time he may as well stop running at the half court line when getting back on defense. He gets some blocks though so don't sleep on his defense completely. Offensively he would rather catch and shoot than work for a better shot, but I'm lazy like that too so who can blame him. When the ball comes into his hands it is not likely to leave except as a shot. He's not one to mix it up in the post, either, so I hope the moronic comparisons to Larry Bird end sooner rather than later. Raiders abused him in Lubbock.
Doolittle can also score, guy is a solid player. Good rebounder, good free throw shooter, good passer. He is wearing a mask now so no idea what to expect tonight, but this guy can play. He's a better three point shooter than you'd think, and he will mix it up inside. It's a nice 1-2 combo with Doolittle and Manek.
A nice 1-2 combo for sure but Tech plays 5 gusy and OU doesn't really have much past Doolittle. They are D1 scholarship basketball players so it's not like they will lay down and lose, but the truth is they are a lower echelon team and lately have been playing like it.
It's this way. OU is not that good, certainly not as good as Texas Tech. Good teams will win this game, so Tech needs to come out and win this game. Raiders got their lunch money taken at TCU, got sand kicked in their face in Stoolwater. But more recently Tech laid the smackdown on ISU in Ames, to the tune of the worst home loss ever for Iowa State. I wold love to see, and I think we do see, that same mentality tonight from the Raiders. I don't expect Tech to start the game 14-18 from the floor, but the way they have been playing I would not be surprised either.
I think the line opened at Tech -4.0 and last I heard was at Tech -2.5, which means money came in on Oklahoma. Do they know something we don't know? I say no.
