Hear what recruits had to say about their visits during Texas Tech's game against TCU this past weekend. We will update this thread with more reactions as we get them.

Mesquite Poteet (TX) DB Mekhi Garner (commit)

"We didn't really do too much because I've already seen the campus so much. I've been there so many times and I really didn't do much this time. I just sat in coach (Karl) Scott's office until pregame started. Saturday was actually my first ever college football game that I've seen in person."

On finally getting to experience the game day atmosphere:

"It was good. It was a heartbreaking loss, but other than that the crowd was really live and very loud."

On the defense's performance:

"Defense actually played really well. That was probably one of the best games they've played in a long time."

On visiting with coach Karl Scott and David Gibbs:

"We talked about stuff like the playoffs we're still in. We play Prosper this Friday and just finally getting some time to catch up cause I've been waiting to come down here."

"On my way out for pregame, I talked to coach (David) Gibbs for a little bit. I hadn't really talked to him much before that but we just said hi to each other."

On talking with other commits:

"I saw Jaylon (Hutchings) was there. Me and him were talking the whole game. Corey (Fulcher) was there and that's all who I talked to but I know there were plenty of commits there, lots of them."

On taking another visit:

"I think my official visit is after the season so yeah I'll be coming back again."

Thoughts on the program:

"Honestly we've play hard. That's honestly it. Half of the games we've lost, we've always been up and played well on defense. The record doesn't really bother me and I'm going to do what I can in the offseason to go harder than the next team."

Forney (TX) DT Jaylon Hutchings (commit)

"I had a tour guide and she took us around the facilities, the indoor and that was my first time going into the actual facility and seeing all of the new stuff they put on the wall. The last time I went that wasn't up so it was a pretty cool sight, seeing all of the new stuff they added to the indoor. We also went to the training room just to see everything, I talked to the coaches and after that went down to the field, saw them warm up, went up to the stands and watched the game."

On talking with the coaching staff:

"I pretty much talked to everyone. I talked to coach (Terrance) Jamison the most and I talked to coach (Kliff) Kingsbury before we went out to warm-ups. He was just asked me how my knee was and everything, just a little chit chat."

On getting to visit on game day:

"It was cool. That was my first time going to an actual game, I always watch them on TV but I loved being there. It was good, the fans were into it, I liked it a lot especially for an 11:00 game it was a good showing."

Thoughts on the defense's performance:

"I think the defense did a tremendous job with creating turnovers and giving the offense opportunities to score, so I can't be more happy about how the defense played.

"I talked to coach Jamison about it and everything and he was talking to me about how they couldn't have played any harder. That's what he can't argue about, their effort."

On visiting with other commits:

"Yeah I talked to Mekhi (Garner). We basically hung out together during the game. We're right next to each other, he's from Mesquite and that's about 20 minutes from where I live."

On taking another visit:

"My official visit is the first week in December. So yes sir, I'll be going back down there then."

On rehab:

"It's going good. I'm released from Dr. Cooper on the 27th, that's when I take my final test, so I'll be good when I come to Tech."

On the program:

"The main focus has been on defense this year and I feel like they've proven that what they are capable of and I feel like the offense will come around, but the main focus of me was the defense so I feel like we're much improved. The offense is going to come, but we have to focus on defense and I feel like we did our part this year."
