There is not a ton of video out there on young Vlad, so just keep that in mind as you go through this.

  • For a big man, Vlad is an excellent cutter. He just seems see the floor well, and be able put himself in good positions to score.
  • That's a really good skill to have in the motion offense that Beard runs, the constant movement won't be foreign to him.

  • Like the tweet says, that is some excellent footwork for a seven footer. Hopefully, that's an indicator of overall athleticism.
  • As a side note, he has a pretty solid repertoire of post moves.

  • Just like on offense, he sees the court well on defense, and shows the ability to play really solid help defense. Especially helpful when you are a seven footer with a great wingspan.
  • Speaking of wingspan, not only does he appear to move well for a big man, but his wingspan really helps when he is switched onto smaller, faster guards.

A few concerns...
  • Again, not a ton of video, but I did not find many highlights of him in the pick and roll/pick and pop. His skill set says he should be capable, but I just haven't seen it.
  • Seems skinny, considering Tech Basketball's strength staff, I'm not overly concerned. It's just something that needs attention.
  • I want to see his shot, he shoots free throws well which is a good indicator, but it could really be a game changer if he can shoot from deep.
