My mother in law is an old lady with dementia or severe anxiety or schizophrenia or maybe all of those things. She called the police today to get help with her thermostat, and she freaked the cop out enough that he ordered a mental health assessment. All I know is the assessment would take place over 72 hours at an institution. Anyone know what else to expect with this? She's in DFW so I suppose they would send her somewhere in the area. We are debating letting it play out or having her chill at our place while things blow over.
