1. Amazon Alexa, and presumably Echo, are listening to what you are saying in your homes/offices. They claim it's for marketing purposes to sell to advertisers. They admit to having heard an unattended baby crying in distress and hearing several sexual assault events and did nothing to notify authorities. Caveat emptor.

2. Charge those cell phones daily! Insurance companies are using the failure to charge phones to 100% as an excuse to raise rates. If you have an insurance company app on your phone they can use it to determine if you charge the phone daily. They claim that if you don't you are unorganized and thus a higher risk to file a claim.

Two bills are in the Texas Legislature to prohibit this practice. HB 4390 and HB 4518. Both bills are being lobbied against by Facebook, Google and other dataminers. California, home of Silicon Valley, was the first in the nation to pass a law to prohibit this and it passed quickly. Lobbyists say it will be too burdensome if all 50 states pass legislation, therefore, we should all wait for the dysfunctional US Congress to pass one for all America. Good luck with that!
