They have been mentioned a bit on the site and I read the Athletic’s write up on their team for next year. I really like the nonconfefence schedule we have, gives us a chance for some good wins that won’t be easy to get.
Ole Miss is going to be an interesting team. They have a good QB, good OL, and really good WR. They aren’t great at running it so I think our front should hold up. The key is going to be getting pressure and our CB will have to really hold up.
Conversely, their defense is kind of a mess. Wasn’t good last year and they lost a lot of talent to the NFL and transfer. They lost their pass rush, all of their LB, and secondary is solid.
It sets up as a good matchup for us if our new look offense can run the ball. Ironically it feels the opposite as games used to feel which was we are going to air it out and hope our defense holds on. Well we are going to try and pound them and our defense should slow them down. Over the course of a game that is typically a winning formula assuming no turnovers. I’m most interested to see if the OL can get a push and how Jett looks when the light comes on. Should be a good early test but if we are focused with a good game plan we should win this one.
