New Google Home (vs. Amazon Echo)

I opted to purchase the new Google Home instead of the Amazon Echo (even though I am getting an Amazon Echo Dot as a gift next week). Did I make a good decision? I know the Echo has a bit more at this stage as Google Home is just getting started, but it seems Google is shooting for functions that the Echo does not have.
