Mason Montgomery:
- Personally, he focuses on himself when it's a pitchers dual. He wants to control what he can control.
- The mindset doesn't change when it's 0-0 or 10-0. He likes the cushion but he stays focused on dealing. He had eight runs to back him up in the fourth inning.
- They wanted to go at Houston Baptist after dropping three in Arlington. They're going to keep the foot on the pedal.
- They're going to pull out the good and stack on the positives rather than focusing on the negatives. The mindset for the team is to keep rolling into the midweek with momentum.
Nate Rombach:
- The first three innings were tough but once the momentum started they started to be disciplined at the plate. The second time seeing Spinney helped in that.
- They need to take the good and reflect on that. They need to make adjustments but he has 100% faith in every area of the game for his team. Stay where your feet are is the motto.
Tim Tadlock:
- Spinney slowed the game down the first three innings and he handled it well. They had a couple of breakdowns at the plate on offense and then the second time through they got a break. He had to make pitches and it was different from there on out.
- Montgomery had good command. He let the guys play behind him and trusted his defense.
- Montgomery's experience is better even though it's not much of game experience.
- Kurt Wilson had a big swing in the fourth. They took the 1-0 lead and Kurt found the hole in left to get things going for the offense. Wilson won a lot of pitches this weekend, Tadlock said.
- As a group, Tadlock doesn't think they lost confidence after the three losses in Arlington. Last weekend was rough but he doesn't think they lost much.
- Andrew Devine didn't run out there but they will throw him back out there. Tadlock said Devine didn't have the best weekend in Arlington but they need him back on the mound to grow and get better.
- Micah Dallas and Chase Hampton will get the start on Tuesday and Wednesday.
- His bullpen guys were on today. They were wanting to throw Sublette so they're in a way happy the run-rule didn't come into play in the bottom of the eighth. He's glad Queen was able to get back on the mound because he's a little behind schedule.
