This is obviously a guess here, and things will likely change, but as of today Texas Tech's starting five would be:
Mac McClung
Kyler Edwards
Kevin McCullar
Terrance Shannon
Marcus Santos-Silva
I think the other players solidly in the rotation include Jamarius Burton, Joel Ntambwe, Micah Peavy and Nimari Burnett. I'm curious about how Avery Benson and Tyreek Smith fit.
Some thoughts:
Mac McClung could be your best player at the start, if not, it's Santos-Silva.
Micah Peavy could be a one-and-done so we'll see what that looks like as things get going and what it looks like a month from now. He is legit!
I think there are five, maybe six guys that can really create and get a shot off whenever they want: McClung, Burton, Shannon, Peavy and Ntambwe with Kyler perhaps in that group, too. Last year it was really only Ramsey that was in this group and it was a problem. Not anymore.
Shannon has really improved his jumper and McCullar is your best defensive player. Ultimately, the players will decide who plays and plays heavy minutes in the coming weeks. I think the key there is who really avoids mistakes on defense. If you guard, you'll play and play plenty.
