I assume the answer to this is yes, since if you're from San Antonio you have the Spurs, if you're from Dallas you have the Mavericks and if you're from Houston you have the Astros this past season.

Not to bore you guys too much but I moved to DFW from The Netherlands in June 2005, which is when I started following sports here. In the 12.5 years since, my teams have done the following...

Team: Dallas Cowboys
When I became a fan: 2005
What they've done: 2 playoff wins, 0 anything of note

Team: Texas Rangers
When I became a fan: 2005
What they've done: 2 World Series Appearances, biggest WS heartbreak of all time

Team: Dallas Stars
When I became a fan: 2005
What they've done: 5 playoff appearances, never made the Stanley Cup Finals

Team: Phoenix Suns (I was born in Tempe, AZ and my dad was a big Suns fan)
When I became a fan: 2005
What they've done: some really good seasons in the late 2000's, but never made the Finals and since Nash was traded they've been one of the worst teams in the league

Team: Texas Tech (all athletics)
When I became a fan: 2012 (enrolled as a student in Jan 2013, so I missed all the good Leach years in football)
What they've done:
- Football won a Holiday Bowl and been below .500 in conference every year.
- Basketball made the NCAA tournament 1x.
- Baseball won 2 Big 12 championships and made the CWS twice.

With tonight's Cowboys loss that extends the futility streak further. My next chance is I guess Tech basketball.

What's it like to be a fan of a winning team?
