With opening day two weeks from friday, I got to wondering how far out Gavin Kash was off the career HR record at Tech after he blasted 26 homers in his debut season in Lubbock last year. Baring something unforeseen, this will be his final year in a Tech uniform and his only shot to break into the top 10 or even capture the record himself with a full, healthy season of production like last year. Below is the top 10. Not sure who all would fall between #10 and Gavin Kash.

1) Clint Bryant (93-96)-- 44
2) Josh Bard (97-99) & Joe Dillon (96-97)-- 43
4) Mike Humphries (85-88)-- 41
5) Gavin Kash (23-24) — 40
6) Roger Kieschnick (06-08) & Jace Jung (20-22)— 39
8) Dillon Ruecker (95-96) & John Grimes (82-85)-- 37
10) Eric Gutierrez (13-16)-- 36
11) Keith Ginter (97-98)-- 34

Gavin Kash (2023)-- 26

Side note-- Had Jace's 2020 season not been cut short due to covid, he very well may be up there around #1.

I'll plan to try and keep this updated throughout the season.
