Lot of interesting stuff that Wood throws out there defensively. I think it's a breath of fresh air, and maybe I'll either hop on a live stream or record some videos to further explain the scheme as I continue to familiarize myself with it over the next couple of weeks. Goal is to watch all 12 UH defensive tapes, but I caught the Baylor game, and had some walking around knowledge.
Also, reached out to a current Tech student who has talked with me a bit about his football playing days with some tape breakdown this season. Funnily enough, he was a walk on at Army while Wood was the DC there, so he shared some cool insight on Wood the coach and Wood the person.
"Wood’s a great dude as I know him. Development driven, high standards, leader, fun to be around at practice and in the weight room. He’s one of those coaches that bounces around and has high energy. Definitely a good culture fit from an outside perspective with Joey."
