The Longhorns are prepared to make what will be the last time they visit the Hub City before they move to the SEC this weekend. Texas brings a star-studded roster into Lubbock once again and are ranked #22 in the AP Poll.
The Red Raiders will have a few key players on offense to slow down, including Heisman hopeful Bijan Robinson.
Bijan Robinson:
Robinson is one of the best running backs in the nation this season and will be a massive challenge for the Texas Tech front seven on Saturday.
The Longhorn offense has been going through Robinson and his backup in Roschon Johnson since the injury to Quinn Ewers.
Robinson has found the end zone six times in three games this season and has 311 yards on the ground while having 132 receiving yards on seven catches.

Roschon Johnson:
Johnson has served as a nice compliment back for Steve Sarkisian’s offense this season as the senior has recorded 131 rushing yards on 21 carries while scoring a touchdown.
Johnson has been used out of the wildcat this season, mostly last week against UTSA.

Hudson Card:
Since the injury to Ewers, Card has returned to his starting role that he held last season. It appears that Sarkisian doesn’t have as much faith in Card’s throwing ability as the offensive splits have changed quite a bit.
In five quarters of play, Ewers attempted 36 passes for 359 yards and two touchdowns. On the other hand, Card attempted 50 passes for 343 yards and a touchdown in 8 quarters of play this season.
If the Red Raiders can contain Robinson and Johnson and make Card beat them through the air, they may put themselves in a position to win on Saturday.
Quinn Ewers:
As previously mentioned, Ewers left the Alabama game with a shoulder injury and hasn’t played since. However, Ewers has been practicing this week and it is possible that he gets the start over Card on Saturday.
Ewers was effective during his first 5 quarters of football as a Longhorn, throwing for 359 yards on 25 completions along with two touchdowns.
Xavier Worthy & Jordan Whittington:
Worthy and Whittington were both highly recruited young wide receivers and they have struggled to be super involved in the offense since the injury to Ewers.
The All-American in Worthy has 11 receptions for 162 yards and is without a touchdown in the first three games.
Whittington has also failed to reach the end zone and has 146 yards on 14 receptions this season.
Ja’Tavion Sanders:
Sanders has seen his role elevated since the injury to Ewers, being used as a safety valve for Card. After not seeing a reception all season last year, he has ten catches for 94 yards in three games this season.
Sanders also got in the end zone for a touchdown against Louisiana-Monroe.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Longhorns are improved from last season and with the help of some returning pieces, Texas should be able to keep the Red Raider offense somewhat in check, making up for their offense.
D’Shawn Jamison & Anthony Cook:
Jamison is one of the most experienced members of the Texas defense as Saturday’s matchup will be his 52nd game in burnt orange. This season he has made five tackles, intercepted a pass and blocked a kick.

Cook is also a seasoned veteran in the Longhorn secondary having played in 50 collegiate games, all with Texas. This season he has made 18 total tackles and two for loss.
Ovie Oghoufo, Keondre Coburn, & T’Vondre Sweat:
These three are big parts of a strong defensive line that looked really good against Alabama and will most definitely poise a massive challenge to the Red Raider offensive line on Saturday.
Oghoufo will be matched up with Caleb Rogers on the blindside all afternoon on Saturday. He doesn’t sub a whole lot and has recorded 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack this season.
Coburn is yet another fifth-year senior who has made an impact in all five seasons. This year he has made nine tackles and one for loss.
Sweat has made seven tackles this season and recorded a quarterback hurry against the Crimson Tide in early September.
Demarvion Overshown:
Overshown had his name in the headlines this week for a past charge and will play this week against the Red Raiders, but only in the second half due to a targeting suspension that was upheld by the NCAA on Wednesday.
The team captain is a critical part of the Longhorn linebacking core, recording 23 total tackles and 2.5 for loss this season.
