For the life of me, how can so many people become such fruitcakes/scaredy cats? This was not a thing when I was growing up, and I do not remember hearing about it but in the last 5-7 years.

According to the TTU basketball roster, Malik Ondigo is no longer with the Texas Tech Basketball team.

Ondigo played two seasons at Texas Tech from 2017-2019 and then transferred to Rice for two season where he did not play. This summer he decided to come back to Lubbock as a walk on but has now left the program. Ondigo had also been dealing with a ankle injury for a lot of this offseason.

They slotted Mark Adams in the 4th Tier…ridiculous. Some names ahead of him:

I live in enemy territory here in Austin, and I just got back from a lunch where Jay Hartzell, the president of UT spoke. Upon being asked about UTs switch from big 12 to SEC, he said “college sports have become a business and there’s a movement in college football where all the biggest brands are going to play each other and the have and the have nots are going to be separated, Texas is a have and they are always going be a have”. Lol like UT isn’t the one that started this all. Time ran out after this question but I was going to ask him who the have nots are.

In 48 minutes instead of 4 hours if you’re into that sorta thing.

I'm curious to know what our stats look like when we have a big play...we usually hurry to the ball and get a quick play off. Is it me or do we seem to always be behind the chains when doing this? I'm sure there's some analytics behind it but I feel like we stumble more than not after a big play. Any of you stat guys have some data? Just curious

I've been one of those screaming at my TV to fair catch the ball all season rather than give up yards and start the drive on our 17. Joey's explanation that we were going to keep returning them because we wanted to be aggressive didn't make sense to me until this past Saturday when we went for it on 4th down about a baker's dozen times, including some when it seemed obvious that we should be kicking. I think the dude is culture building. He really does want the team to believe they can take it to the house every single time. He wants to go for the throat and have a team that does the same.

It absolutely looks to be working. We are used to things falling apart when games start going like Houston did. This team got it done. Against NC State, that could have snowballed but the team kept fighting and it was competitive to the end, despite all of our turnovers. I've seen us find ways to lose to Texas more times than I can count, but the team believed they could win and did.

He has the team buying in that if we keep throwing haymakers, eventually they other team will break. It goes back to the interview with Pearson before the season that with the previous staff, there was a sense going into some games they were going to lose but with the new staff they legit think they are going to win every game,

Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Arizona State already looking for new coaches in September.

Feels damn good knowing we nailed it last year. In my scarlet tinted glasses sure looks like we started a trend to get ahead of the traditional coaching searches and to hopefully save the recruiting class.

SI has never followed college football very closely so their writers have always been knowledge-challenged like your ex-girlfriend who pretends to follow football because she knows Alabama and Ohio State are good.

So of course it's not all that shocking that they are jumping on the Jayhawk bandwagon to get attention by predicting KU will play in a New Years Day 6 bowl. I had to go back and look at who KU has played when I saw that. They've played a decent schedule for sure with UH, WVU, and Duke, but none of those three appear to be all that good. Duke's best win is a 7 point win over 1-3 Northwestern.

It's pretty telling that in their bowl projections they cover the CFP games and NY 6 bowls, along with "Other Key Bowls" that aren't key at all -- they're just four random bowls that are pretty much the other SEC bowls. I'm pretty certain that almost anyone on RRS could cover college football better than SI.

There were not many changes at the top of the major college football bowl picture this week, though we did have a move in one of our CFP semifinal projections.
In Week 4, USC looked mortal in a win over Oregon State, and Oklahoma fell to Kansas State. But speaking of the Sunflower State, let us welcome Kansas to the picture as the 4–0 Jayhawks spend this week as the Big 12’s representative in the Sugar Bowl.

What’s more notable to me is that none of the FS1 games or showings were even close to our numbers this season. Only one that came close is whichever primetime game FS1 carried.

We have talked a ton about JM and his leadership, culture, etc.

We need to definitely talk about the job our coaches are doing developing the players they inherited. Week 1, DB's were crushed on here as they allowed several plays to get behind him. Since that week, we have only had a few breakdowns and the DB's have been HUGE. OLine has gotten better every single week.....every single one. Special Teams are getting better and better with practice and changes. LB's are setting the edge and turning things back in better than I have ever seen at Tech. QB play yesterday compared to the previous two weeks has been night and day.

1) It is nice to see players being developed and start to maximize their abilities
2) It is even nicer to see adjustments and growth from game to game....even from a 1st half to a 2nd half
3) It is ever more niceier to see coordinators out-adjust their counterpart across the field.....honestly can't remember the last time it happened in all 3 phases like this

Last thing, Bear and the rest of the S&G Staff are really starting to prove their worth. The better conditioned team won yesterday, period. That is as much on the S&G, nutrition and training staff as it is on the coaches.

I certainly don't want to look ahead past this season, but I can't help but get excited about what this team is going to look like 2-3 years down the road.

Well, this is wack and unsurprisingly, rhetoric is “trashy Tech fans? Color me shocked” etc. Hope this dipshit is caught and suspended/banned from athletic events.

Although they won’t replay last Saturday’s game, “Rewind with Steve Sarkisian” is a regularly scheduled program playing this week and it is glorious.

“Tech caught all the breaks.” “We just didn’t make plays.” “That’s a bad break for us.” “That quarterback is a big man.” Etc…. Tasty Longhorn tears.
