Turned 71 last June and I fear the window may be closing on a couple of items on my bucket list. I am contemplating flying into Puerta Natales, Chile, in late March, 2023. From Puerta Natales I am planning on hiking the 4 day W trek in Torres de Paine with G Adventures, taking a day to rest, and then head into Argentina for 4 days of fly fishing for ocean run brown trout at El Rincon Estancia. FWIW, I am still in pretty good physical condition, save and except multiple knee surgeries including one knee replacement. I hiked the Inca trail (after knee replacement about 8 years ago) without issues, except oxygen deprivation.
Wondering if anyone has had any experience doing either of these? How challenging are the trails? Has anyone fly fished down here? My Espanol is pretty limited, any language issues? How friendly are locals to gringos?
