Qb room 2023

Look, I get it, this is way too early, for way too early even but still, hear me out. Assuming best case scenario and Shough misses 6-8 weeks, does Shough’s probable collarbone injury actually cost Tech more in the long run than the short? Hard to see a scenario all three of those dudes come back in 2023, and now Shough almost has to come back doesn’t he?

Red Raider Intro/Game Songs

Seeing the video of Notre Dame intro and thinking about some of the more popular Song/School Associations, I was trying to think of some good one's for Tech. I'm not talking about "Red Raider Comin At Ya" or the fight song. I like both of those but I mean more modern songs that we could use as intro (Enter Sandman/VaTech, Shipping Up to Boston/Notre Dame, etc.) or pre-game/in-game segments (Jump Around/Wisconsin, Calling Baton Rouge/LSU, Country Roads/WVa, etc.) that could be later associated with Tech. I was at this season's TCU game and they played "Friends In Low Places". The sing-along was epic and sounded great. Would be great to have something like that to look forward to every game.

Here is my list. Interested to hear y'alls:

Paint It Black - This is by far my #1 and i think it would be awesome to use as an intro song. Especially if we ever got to the point where we could kill the lights in the stadium.

Back In Black - Another cool song to have as an intro. Classic rock and easy to sing along to.

Don't Stop Believing - Would be great post-game or 4th quarter (win or lose) and a great sing-along for the crowd.

Fight for Your Right (To Party) - I think this song would really get the students going. Not sure when to play it though...

Fox News is so full of shit

Donald Trump illegally took classified documents. He refused to give them back for a year. He defied subpoenas. He LIED and said he had returned everything. He had top secret document in his desk and on the damn floor. Fox News response this morning? To bring on the the South Dakota Governor to say we can't trust the DOJ and we need to be told what is the the documents.

WTF? They know damn well we can't be told what is those documents. More importantly, they know the low IQ, head up Trump's ass apologists aren't smart enough to see the head fake.

By the way, the TRUMP ADMINISTRATION investigated Hillary and said the stuff on the server wasn't properly classified and it was unintentional. They didn't excuse her and said she still should have known the unmarked documents were classified. So let's recap, Hillary unintentionally had unmarked documents, didn't know they were classified, and didn't defy subpoenas and Trump, Fox News, EEF, and right wing media demanded for two years she be locked up.

Now Trump INTENTIONALLY took top secret documents, refused to give them back, defied subpoenas, LIED, had documents in his desk and on the floor, and the right wing response is to attack the DOJ and Hillary Clinton. You MFers just don't quit. My God, you're so full of shit it's ridiculous.

Call to Action: We Need Every TV Set!

Our fanbase is the most amazing in the country, bar none. We win every twitter battle. We even made a dang cactus trend nationally! There is nothing we can’t do. But now that football season is here, we have a unique opportunity in front of us; something that will directly affect our realignment value and the value of our Tier 3 rights. We need every TV view or stream possible for every Tech game. I’m not just saying ‘turn on your tv,’ although I am saying that. No, what I’m saying is that we need to make a coordinated effort across our entire alumni base to garner as many streams/TV sets as possible. So please:
  • Turn on your TVs or streaming devices every game! Don’t turn them off, no matter how far up we are.
  • Even if you are attending the game in Lubbock, or one of our other home venues like Fort Worth, leave your TVs or streaming devices on!
  • Even if you are watching at a bar or friends house, leave your TVs on!
  • Call your parents/kids/siblings/friends and get them to turn on their TVs, every week. Email everyone you know to remind them.
  • Use your sphere of influence to get others to turn on their TVs, even if they aren’t watching. E.g., I have several OU friends who feel a little bad about deserting the conference. They have promised to stream/turn on their TVs every week to the Tech game.
  • Do you own/run a business? Make it a requirement for employees to turn their TVs on to the Tech games
  • Live in an apartment complex? Offer free beer to anyone who turns on the games.
  • Break into your neighbors’ homes and turn their TVs on. Steal some beer while you are at it.
  • What are your ideas? Tell us in the replies.
Our TV numbers have been, frankly, dreadful for the last few years. But I firmly believe that we can change that with a coordinated effort. Heck, our online presence proves it. We need to start now, tomorrow, for the Murray State game. Yes, it will be a little harder to get people to watch because it is on ESPN+, but that means every view counts even more. Get Tech twitter involved. We have seen just what that can accomplish.

That is my humble ask. Let’s make watching Tech football trend nationally, just like the cactus!

Let’s gooooooooooooo!

Tech is figuring it out, no?

Listening to Thetford and Ashby this morning on the DoubleT973. They made a comment this morning that rings true. Over the past few years Tech seems to have hit stride in gameday operations with football and basketball and such. It came after a comment about the cashless concession stands (a listener texted in saying he was going to quit coming to the games because of that) and how there seems to be less criticism. Good job RobertGio and team.

Pump Jack Party

I don't know if there's been a year in the last decade that has had as much build up and excitement as this one! The tailgate scene should really be something special!

@Robert G and his team have done an incredible job this year. Go find him on campus Saturday and thank him for what he and his team have done. If you get a chance, go check out the green space where the coliseum used to be. The student tailgates there are going to be awesome. Also, the concert series over at Raider Alley is going to be great! TGE has also done an incredible job all over campus, making all the tailgates uniform with a high end appearance.

Also, need to thank the Andrea Tirey and the Red Raider Club. Without them and their help...putting this thing together, especially in the location they've allowed us to use, it would be impossible.

All that being said...we're going to throw a tailgate I think everyone will love. It's going to be a Pump Jack Party!

@codycc64 Has been kind enough to allow us to tailgate with him next to the Southeast entrance. As if he hasn't done enough for this university and its football program...he's throwing an incredible tailgate right next to the student entrance and letting us partner with him to try to make it the best it can be.

We will have the biggest video board on campus showing all the games. We will be smoking different meats all year. There will be a fully stocked cash bar for the public...and I'm sure it won't be too hard to find a beer if you come grab me.

@EverymanRaider Will be sponsoring the entertainment every week. It really will be a party!

This tailgate will be open to the public! Please come by, say hello...and get your mind right for the game! Let's Goooooooooo!!!

Staying at the team hotel

We’re at the team hotel. Sadly I’m in town for my little cousins wedding. We don’t get to go to the game. My 12 year old is wanting to know what time the team will load up and head to the stadium. She wants to be down stairs to cheer them off. Any help on this would be appreciated.

An extra note, in several run ins with some of the players tonight, extremely well mannered and very respectful. I cannot wait for this team and coach McGuire to exceed expectations.
