What happened???

Called 911, EMS picked up my wife during the night and took her to the ER. Never saw her this sick, which is saying a lot inasmuch as she is a cancer survivor. Turned out it was a kidney stone. Got no sleep last night, crashed about 2PM today.

Saw the score after I woke up. Great win for the program, the team and for Joey!

I did have the foresight to record the game before EMS came so I'll watch it later. Football is a crazy game, isn't it? Very happy I was wrong about how Tech would come out today.

Joey McGuire is our guy...

Joey McGuire is now 20-12 0.625 overall and 13-8 0.619 conference in his 2 1/2 seasons at Tech. We have our guy!

Mike Leach was 18-14 0.563 overall and 8-10 0.444 conference in his first 32 games at Tech.
Spike Dykes was 18-13-1 0.578 overall and 11-8-1 0.575 conference in his first 32 games at Tech.

Joey McGuire is 2-0 in his first two bowl games at Tech.
Mike Leach was 0-2 in his first two bowl games at Tech.
Spike Dykes was 1-1 in his first two bowl games at Tech.

He has consistently shown the ability to learn and adapt. I am already excited about next year based upon what he has shown us through his first 2 1/2 seasons.

Beat Baylor for bragging rights and bowl eligibilty and then the last 5 games for the shot at a Big 12 Championship, possible playoff spot and level of bowl game should we come up a little short.

Small to Midsize SUVs

Budget: $45kish

Looking for a new car for my wife and I. Mine is basically on it's last leg, and I tend to drive cars until they die (current one has 225k miles, and about 12 years old). It likely needs some major repairs, or I just buy something new.

Purpose: Just 2 of us, mainly city driving, and some road trips.

Preferences: Trailer hitch (for bike rack) or rooftop rack system. Some technologies that my current 12 year old car has (so, basically everything). Something my wife doesn't mind driving.

I am tempted buy electric, but think that may be the next vehicle we buy, but not this one unless there is something I should know.

Current leader is a Mazda CX50. I was also tempted by 4runners, but don't think I want to go that much higher on budget, or that much worse on gas mileage.

I have done basically no research beyond my car getting a check engine light yesterday, and me deciding I should just buy a new car.
