You're either coaching it (Kittley) or allowing it to happen (McGuire)

It's easy to put most of the blame at Kittley's feet, because his gameplan & play calling was the most egregious and head-scratching. But it's not just a Kittley problem, or a DeRuyter problem, or even a problem for tonight - this is exactly what happened against Wyoming. The opposing staff make adjustments, we refuse to do so, and the game slips away from us.

On Defense - K-State abandons their traditional offense and just starts running QB power down our throat. We don't adjust by attacking the backfield, so they just keep doing it, and keep scoring.

On Offense - Our QB aggravates his injury, cannot throw. Eventually he gets pulled for a 3rd-stringer. We don't adjust by helping our young QB with a heavy run game and quick passing game.

On Special Teams - On kickoffs, we routinely take the ball out (instead of taking the touchback), and Kstate's kickoff coverage continually make us pay. We don't adjust, and so our freshman QB is forced to start drives on his own 15 yard-line or worse.

It's obvious our coordinators were getting their lunch money stolen. So at a certain point, I expect the head honcho to uncross his arms, stop chewing his gum, and step in and make these badly-needed tweaks.

Am I wrong for expecting more out of Joey? And if so, why are we putting so much faith into him to elevate our program?
