Thank God that they came to play tonight!

I had to leave to run a practice for one of my kids when we had pulled back to within 5 so I'm just now watching the end of the game.

Amazing how different we look when we start playing defense. The offense starts to happen. Hmmm. Think Beard preaches that all of the time? Yes! It is how this team MUST play to win. We don't have great shooters. We don't have dominant bigs. We MUST scrap.

25 1st Half Points
50 2nd Half Points

14-0 2nd chance points OkSt 1st Half
13-2 2nd chance points TTU 2nd Half

29.2% shooting 1st Half
53.6 % shooting 2nd Half

46.9% OkSt shooting 1st Half
45.5% OkSt shooting 2nd Half

Their bench outscored ours 36-18
If you look back at our hot 3 game start to Big12 play, our strength was that our bench world destroy Baylor, Kansas and Kansas State when they were in. That punch is gone now mostly because Zach Smith is out and Culver/Zhaire Smith are now starting. Stevenson, Odiase and Hamilton have to step it back up!

Tonight's scoring:
2 - Zhaire Smith (1-9 shooting OUCH!!!)
4 - Gray
26 - Evans (22 in the 2nd Half CLUTCH)
25 - Culver (14 in the 1st Half and 11 in the 2nd Half THANK YOU)
0 - Odiase

3 - Hamilton
9 - Francis (3rd best offensive player on this team)
0 - Webster
6 - Stevenson (I hope that coming off the bench gets him going again WE NEED HIM)
0 - Ondigo
0 - Moretti (I thought that this was his worst game so far)

We desperately needed this win! I know that Saturday @ South Carolina doesn't real do much for you but id like to see us come out on Saturday using the same aggressive approach that we used in the 2nd half tonight. Win or Lose it is much more exciting to watch and it is what got us here.
