Would you give up a year of your life for a Tech national title in football?

Background:

My wife and her family are all from Ohio, attended Ohio State, and for the ones that didn't are big OSU fans. Needless to say, they were all excited on Monday. However, my FIL complained a bit, mostly because he's also a diehard fan of the Browns and Guardians who never win anything. He literally expects OSU to be top 5 all the time, etc., which is how I would classify most legacy school fans.

Anyway, literally after the game was over and the confetti is falling, he complained that "they just had to make it hard" and "surprised they didn't blow it" which got me a little peeved so I told Mrs. Swamp I'd give my left nut for Tech to PLAY in the national title game in football with no guarantee of victory, even if the other team was supposed to blow us out in a Tech '08 OU-style beat down. And given that we've never even played for the conference title, I think I would literally let them remove one of the boys.

So it got me thinking: say, 'ol Mephistopheles shows up and says 1 year of your life for a guarantee that Tech wins the national title in the next three years. The catch is that he also knows when you are supposed to die, so you're gambling that you were going to live the at least three years to guarantee you would see Tech win it all (if you were going to die in six months, for instance, the bet means you are now immediately dead and don't live to see the game, but you die with the knowledge it is coming).

Would you take that bet?

(and yes I'm bored)
