Texas Tech hasn't won road games in back-to-back weeks since the Red Raiders beat Texas A&M 43-25 and Kansas 63-21 in October 2008.

It's not great, but it's also kind of misleading in that there have only been seven road back-to-back opportunities since 2008 -- Texas Tech has split the two games four times, lost both three times.

2009: at Texas L, at Houston L
2010: at Colorado W, at Texas A&M L
2012: at TCU W, at Kansas State L
2013: at West Virginia W, at Oklahoma L
2014: at Oklahoma State L, at Kansas State L
2015: at Kansas W, at Oklahoma L
2016: at Oklahoma State L, at Iowa State L

In 2013 Kingsbury’s team won in Oct at KU, home vs ISU, then at WV.

It looks like before that Tech won 2 conference road games in a row was 2001 also under Leach.
Oct 27 at Baylor W 63-13
Nov 3 vs TAMU W 12-0
Nov 10 at OSU 49-30
*Kingsbury’s JR year

Then in 1997 under Dykes.
Nov 8 at Texas 24-10
Nov 15 at OSU 27-3
*This team, and the 1999 team, each lost to North Texas, which kept them from going to a bowl game, and probably got Spike fired.

I would agree, it has been very difficult to win 2 straight road conference games. (@A. Dickens and the rest of the board please correct me if I missed a year)

I did not notice any back to back road wins even with a home loss in between. It looks like in 20 years Tech has won consecutive road games 4 times.

It looks like Tech has only won two consecutive road conference games 4 times in the last 20 years, even with a home game in between. (Please correct me if I am wrong)

Before we rally to fire the coach, maybe we look at how difficult it’s been for this program to be successful on the road historically.
