It will matter a great deal to me. If as a big 12 defense we cant slow down a running game of the caliber of a shsu then this team will be in for a long season. If the game is close I think Tech is in for a long season. For me the first game has been a barometer over the last few years. Many will say vast improvements take place between week 1 and 2 however you need to dominate the cream puffs if you have a team that is going to make it thru a big 12 season with a winning record. Anything less and it will be a long year.
