This video was buried in another thread but I thought everyone should have the opportunity to see this because this is why we give.
Also, as a personal giving philosophy I strongly prefer gifting to endowments because I know that my gift (principal) will support the endowment's purpose (athletic scholarships in this case), long after I am gone, through the investment return (growth or income) on my gift. It is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
So whether we give $5, $10, or $1000, we should be proud to know that ANY gift makes a difference LONG into the future. I think that is the power that draws me to endowments over just annual gifts that support some organization for one year, although that is important as well.
