I tend not to be very superstitious or believe in jinxes. So, if you do believe in that then this may make your head want to explode.
My pops (@sf red raider) and I were talking on the phone last night and discussing last week's game and this week's coming game. My mom is a TCU grad, so naturally we were talkin' smack and such, but then we started to talk about how good TCU actually is. My pop told me he thinks we have a great chance of winning but it might be a good idea to pump the brakes on my optimism towards the TCU game, as they are a whole 'nother animal compared to Arky.
What I told him was I am pushing down on the accelerator of optimism when it comes this game. TCU is supposed to beat us, they are #3 in the polls, everyone has predicted them as one of the best in the country. They have everything to lose. Because if we don't beat them, its not the end of the world for us, we lose to a team that people are saying almost EVERYBODY in the country should lose to. If we beat them, they are the ones with the fallout of ESPN blasting them with media coverage and not living up to pre season hype.
We, on the other hand, have everything to gain and not much to lose. We are kickin' ass so far this year and we have a legitimate chance to get some revenge from last year and win this game. We have the squad to pull the upset this year. Whole different team than last year. I truly believe that we will win this game, and if we don't, then we still have a great shot of having a great record this year, which was a main topic of discussion and top concern for the RRS posters before the season started.
I wasn't apart of RRS last year, but I can sure as hell remember the whole "we are going to get our asses kicked" attitude I had almost every week last year, from being apart of this board in my short amount of time, I am almost certain it was just as bad here on RRS. Doesn't it feel great when you go into the week thinking you are going to win?
