This has always kinda nagged at me, but why is Houston considered almost a blue blood-level basketball school? Yeah, the Samson era has been solid, but he's only made one F4 and in ten years. As a school, they've never won it all and only played for the natty twice, both back in the Phi Slamma Jama days, that I don't really even remember and I'm old as damn.
I know they're in a fertile recruiting area and are really good, but why are they so revered? Wassup with that, mang? Am I dumb?
