Suspect any Tech fan of the age of 30 does.
Beat Gonzaga in an early game on Saturday to be one of the first teams to advance to the Sweet 16....Adam Morrison, Gonzaga's star player was left on the floor bawling after that BIG upset.
Now, for those of you who do remember, WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP, how did we do in the Big 12 tournament that year? Doubt few of you, including long-time die hard fans like RaiderRoady and JTChance could remember off the top of your head how THAT turned out.
I actually do remember because I went to the tournament in Kansas City that year (although not for the whole thing). Even then, I had to strain to remember much of it.
I know Duke won last year's national championship - I saw them play in person in Houston in the Regional - but I have no clue if they won the ACC tournament.
College basketball will ALWAYS be about the NCAA tournament 1st and in the prelude to it, the regular season is important to get there....conference tournaments in the Power 6 leagues mean virtually nothing these days - I like basketball but seldom watch any of these conference tournaments because there is NOTHING at stake to speak of....with all of the parity in college basketball, the difference between and 5 seed and a 6 seed is negligible and I would argue with no truly GREAT team in college basketball these days there isn't any great hardship to have to play a 1 seed instead of a 2 seed if you win the Thursday/Friday game.
Obviously, it would be fun to still be playing and like all the rest of you, I was groaning as I watched our guys out of sync for most of last night's game (D. Williams in particular was awful most of the night....Aaron Ross seems to have lost his offensive mojo, etc.)....what we will remember about this season was the 9-9 regular season that got us back to the Dance and how we do once we get there.
