With yesterday's news that Jalin Conyers has eliminated Tech from his top 3, that leaves every tight end offer either committed or out of the picture.
Elijah Yelverton: committed to Iowa
Brandon Frazier: committed to Arkansas
Allen Horace Jr: committed to Arkansas
Jalin Conyers: top 3 of Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State
So with Tech still looking to add a TE to the 2020 class, who are some of the next available potential targets?
The most obvious target, Holcomb has taken multiple visits to campus this spring and the coaches have gone out to Wellington multiple times to evaluate him. At this point I'm led to believe he's the top target but, like the rest of the guys on this list, he doesn't hold an offer from TTU yet.
Total offers: 11 (2 Power 5)
Golightly is a prospect who has really seen his recruitment take off this spring. In very unofficial #TwitterRecruiting, he has follows from Tech coaches Matt Wells, Luke Wells, Joel Filani, DeAndre Smith, Conor Dubin, Chuckie Keeton and Kerry Cooks.
Total offers: 17 (8 Power 5)
Dabney is another highly rated prospect who holds nearly 30 offers. He was offered at Purdue by current Tech assistant Mark Tommerdahl, so there is a relationship there.
Total offers: 27 (15 Power 5)
Johnson is a target who has heard from the coaching staff, Tech has recruited John Paul II high school and has offered his 2021 teammate Jerand Bradley. Tech coaches Luke Wells, Joel Filani, DeAndre Smith and Conor Dubin follow Johnson on Twitter.
Total offers: 17 (9 Power 5)
Brown could be a target, he has a few nice offers but curiously not much in-state. He told me back in April that he has yet to hear from the staff but that "he would love to". Tight ends coach Luke Wells does follow Brown on Twitter.
