I was an undergrad in the early 2000s. Yes, there was some good games under Bob Knight, but I remember in 2008 you couldn’t give tickets away to get people to show up. It was really quite sad how empty the USA was. The program felt dead after Pat Knight, and Billy Gillespie.
I could’ve never dreamed we would play for a national championship, have multiple coaching turnovers, and still be competing for national championships. The students, atmosphere, crowd at road games is unreal. How did we get here?
