Now that MLB is going to only have 10 or so draft rounds, and are going to cut 42 minor league teams from Minor League Baseball, I assume more high school kids end up going to college for a while. But I think some non-D I schools will drop baseball due to the cost of athletics. It is going to be tough on kids who have aspirations of becoming a professional baseball player.
Fewer chances for college players to end up playing pro after college days are over.
The good news is that for the few who do get signed, they will get better salaries while in the minors, and probably better transportation if they can no longer play in the Rookie Leagues or Short Season leagues where they ride the crappy buses.
