From talking with several people familiar with his game, here is what Texas Tech is getting with Terrence Shannon.

He is super athletic with great length and is a legit 6-foot-6. Shannon can absolutely play the point if needed too. He is very smooth with the ball and can easily bring it down under pressure.

Sometimes Shannon doesn’t play as hard as he needs to and his shot does need some work; both are things that the Red Raiders can work with him on. I remember that the knock on Culver at times as a high school prospect was playing hard all the time. That’s what coaching is for. As far as Shannon's shot is concerned, he's just not consistent with it yet but it’ll come. He just needs to put the work in and he’ll do that here starting this summer.

This is probably a dumb comparison because this isn’t who he is but his game is somewhat similar to Ben Simmons - tremendous athlete, can finish at the rim and post up smaller guards but struggles to knock down shots at times. Again, I’m in no way saying he’s Simmons but there are some similarities in the way they play. He just needs to play with a higher motor at times but the talent, length and athleticism are all there.

Texas Tech has players like Davide Morretti, Kyler Edwards and Kevin McCullar that can all knock down shots so this roster won’t be deficient in that area next year.

I do think you’ll see the Red Raiders take as many as three more prospects which will include at least one grad transfer and possibly two. The goal there will be to add some size (rim protector) if you can find the right fit and also someone that can handle it and score it.
