Got a quote back today from a firm on a 10ac piece of commercial property in the metroplex and proceeded to spit out my iced tea at the price. $31k seems really damn high for a bunch of data that can easily be found for free on the USGS site, but this is the first time I've ever needed a topo survey, so I could be way off.
