I’ve been shopping the last two years. I’m kind of OCD when it comes to researching new purchases. I enjoy the research.

Facts - I’m a large human being. 6’ 3, 305, 7-3/4 hat size. 4.3 40 yd dash, etc. Can’t wear anything much less than 40mm without it looking stupid. Have a 39mm Monaco, fits like a smaller dress watch on me....

Only looking at Used market to avoid depreciation and maximize value

Looking at:

$$$ - Rolex Sea Dweller and Sea Dweller Deepsea
Pro - value retention, ease of service, water resistance obviously (I’m not a diver)
Con - Rolex douchebag status (you know, Dallas guy driving a leased 3 series.....)

$$ - Various Panerai Luminor models
Pro - Unique look, size, ease of strap changes, volume on used market lower entry price
Con - have not retained value well over last 5 years, service availability

$$$- IWC Big Pilot
Pro - Like how it looks, unique
Con - Very casual, service availability

$$- Breitling Navitimer, only B01 in house movements with bracelets
Pro - I’m an engineer, so I like the history and the “function” of bezel
Con - have not retained value well due to overproduction, there are a shit-pile of them with with third party movements that look almost identical to the in house B01
