Haven't seen this mentioned on this site, but...
I received an email recently requesting me to forward the email to 5 friends/family to gain support. I've done that. If everyone on this website does the same that would be quite a few additional supporters. Looks like funding has cleared the State House, but the Senate needs to approve.
This is good for the State of Texas and Texas Tech!

Friend,
More than 3,000 people have signed the petition to support the establishment of the Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine in Amarillo!
There is some good news to share -- and some more work to be done -- in having this much-needed initiative fully funded by the state in the current legislative session. Right now, the budget proposed by the Texas House of Representatives fully funds the vet school. The Senate proposal is supportive but not fully there yet, and a conference committee will be required to work it all out.
Bottom line, your voice will be important in the coming weeks and months and we hope we can count on you. We will send you more details soon.
Following are a few additional updates to keep you in the loop.
Amarillo Matters President Jason Herrick was recently interviewed for the podcast, “This Is The Panhandle.” If you have any questions about the impact that the Texas Tech veterinary school would have on the Amarillo area, Jason provides answers in this in-depth interview. Listen here.
Watch this video to hear ranchers talk about the need for more trained veterinarians in our state. This is a major issue facing the food animal industry, as well as small, regional and agricultural communities across Texas.
