Interesting bit from Kevin Sherrington in his Sunday Column.
"Lots of carping from Tom Herman since getting hired at Texas, which apparently wasn't as good of a job as you thought. Seems that its facilities, staff lag far behind other national powers. In particular, Herman wants Texas to inflate staff with "analysts" such as Alabama's Steve Sarkisian, his title before taking OC duties from Lane Kiffin. Herman says even one "nugget" uncovered by hidden staff members makes it "worth the hundreds of thousands of dollars" it costs, if you national title. If Herman's statement doesn't tell you college football is out of control while ADs seek cuts everywhere else, nothing does. As president of AFCA, Herman's predecessor, Mack Brown, once infroduced measure to curb staff sizes. Failed miserably. NCAA should make it a priority...."
- Texas is about to spend some major dollars
- Hard to believe that Texas is that far behind terms of quality of facilities
- Playing catch up, just got harder
- Have to find a way to catch lightening in a bottle
