As we reported earlier, the Jones family was on Zoom with the Texas Tech coaches today.
I was able to briefly message with DeVante's dad, Troy Jones...
"The Zoom went great, DeVante' likes them a lot. We talked to the head coach for about 30 minutes. They walked through the complex and the arena on the Zoom, so he could see where he would work out and train."
Jones is wanted by every school in the country. I asked Troy where Tech fits in on that.
"I think he got it down to three teams and Tech is one of them."
It was later reported by Stockrisers.com that Jones has a Zoom with Michigan next week, so it's fair to assume Tech and Michigan are two of the three.
I asked Troy about a possible commitment timeline...
"I think it's gonna be next week because he got like 30 teams and he wants to narrow it down."
