I've been working on a project in Three Rivers, TX. About 10 days ago I found 2 stray puppies trying to get food near a dumpster. It was 40 degrees & raining, so I took them to the vet - no microchips. Took them to animal control to give the owners (5) days to reclaim them. No one came for them and the city isn't set up to hold them long term & normally transports them to larger cities shelters (kill shelters). I picked them up on the 6th day, and my folks took one of the puppies. I am fostering the other one (in Houston). Unfortunately, my dogs aren't too keen on having a puppy around as they are 7 & 10 years old. I've called quite a few non-kill shelters, all of which have been at capacity.
I'm wondering if anyone on the board would like a puppy. His name is Wayne (Letterkenny), he is a 6 month old Catahoula mix. The vet thinks he may have some German Shepherd in him. I've taken him to get his 1st round of shots. He is currently 27 lbs. Very sweet & playful dog. Just isn't a fit with our older dogs. He is crate trained. Working on potty training. Would really like to find him a home.
