Sunshine pumping:
  • We are 9th and 16th in offense and defense! Top 25 here we come!
  • We can and are committed to running the ball! Balance!
  • We ran for 5 ypc against an fbs team!
  • Almost 700 yards the first game and 450 the second!
  • Our defense held a power 5 team to 130 yards and 3 points!
  • Our LBs are playing like first round draft picks!
  • Bowman the showman is back!
  • Bowman’s screen passes showed improvement week 1 to 2!
  • Vasher is a grown-@ss man!
  • Rigdon is the next walk on to draft pick!
  • Our OL issues will be solved by next week as starters return!
  • Wells gets “it”!
  • Kirby approved more recruiting budgets for wells than Kliff! Thus the great edits! Recruiting is going to be so much better!

Negative:
  • We haven’t played anyone on offense or defense!
  • Bowman was off both weeks on deep throws! Ints are coming against better competition!
  • We have no depth!
  • Where is X! Air raid balance?!
  • We couldn’t stop UTEPs DLs!
  • We have an unimaginative and predictable offense! Big 12 defenses will kill it!
  • We can’t make a pass longer than 10 yards!
  • We are picked to win against AZ and can’t handle success!
  • Air raid has never won a championship!
Reality is I’m in the optimistic but reserved camp. I think we’ve done exactly what we have expected against lower competition. Don’t know how this team or staff react to adversity. Think we are boring and predictable on offense - but that might be ok if we can execute. But there is nothing in the first two games to give me sway one way or the other.

And I still expect 8+ wins and will be disappointed in anything less.
