Mr Obvious I know, but this will be the difference in hoping to be bowl eligible and being one of the best teams in the last decade . Not just in limiting them but we have to create them or we have to play perfect.
Here are last year's important games.

Opponent turnovers listed first, ours next
UH. ..2/3 W
UT....2/0 W
NC State....1/4 L
ISU.....1/0 W
WVU....4/0 W
KU.....2/0 W
TCU....0/1 L
KSU....1/4 L
KU....2/0 W
Baylor....1/5 L
OU....1/2 W
Ole Miss....5/3 W

We won 2 games that we lost the turnover battle....both in OT.
It's not a coincidence that our biggest and easiest wins came when we were +2 for the game.
But even if we turn it over ourselves we still have to get some. We didn't lose a game where we had 2. The momentum shift can be real. If last night's interception was allowed I fully believe we win that game .
The last several years we have asked our offense to be near perfect. No kick or punt returns for TDs and no defensive scores.
If JMs mantra of take3 happens we will be damn good. I would sign up for 2 a game right now. ( yes..I know we won the battle 2-1 against Wyoming)
