Just wanted to look through the past few years and see how Behren compares with some other recent QB's. Not in any way just a Behren apologist thread, just was curious to dive into some stats and see what it looked like.
CAREER STATS at TTU
Behren
5,446 yds 43TD 20INT
Shough
2,922 yds 20TD 11INT
D. Smith
2,686 yds 19TD 10INT
H. Columbi
2,356 yds 13TD 9INT
Ageless Alan Bowman
5,260 yds 33TD 17INT
Jett Duffey
4,061 yds 26TD 11INT
Nic Shimonek
4,455yds 39TD 11INT
Mahomes
11,252yds 93TD 29INT
Overall, I think the offensive line issues have been the #1 bugaboo for our QB play/injuries for at least 10 years. Behren has done more than enough to manage this season and might be being asked to be something he's not with his average at best mobility behind this OL. He's managed this season as best he can. I'm sure there are several throws he wants back, and drops have been an issue as well.
TBH I'm all in on the ceiling for Will Hammond, I'm just not sure you want to toss him out there knowing your weaknesses up front. His mobility is a huge plus moving forward.
I would love to see Conyers utilized muuuuuch more in the passing game with Kelce'ish option routes to take advantage of aggressive defenses.
