Let me preface this by saying I like KH and I am damn glad he is our AD. What he has done to improve our facilities, has been nothing short of extraordinary. I have heard many people say they trust Hocutt to make the right hire, and it just got me thinking. Looking at his coach hiring history, I can't say that I am that confident.
Candi Whitaker - massive failure, and he probably kept her on too long
Kliff Kingsbury - failure and the contract extension was an even bigger mishap.
Tubby - Very solid hire, and just what our program needed at that time.
Beard/Tadlock - These were fantastic hires, but the vast majority on this board were calling for them when the positions became available. IMO, these were both obvious hires and did not require a special AD to get them.
He's made some pretty awful decisions with some of his hires, and the good hires seem like all Tech fans were calling for those coaches anyways. Am I missing something here?
