Can't help but wonder how much of these Big 12 trends arise from Chris Beard's effect on the conference. Lot of teams are stealing our defense and, in general, turning games into grindfests.
In 2017, Tech scored 1.02 points per possession in Big 12 games. That was the 7th worst offense in the league, with three teams scoring above 1.10 points/poss.
Currently, Tech is scoring 1.05 points/poss, which is the most of any team in the conference. In 2017, that would've been 6th worst.
I'm probably wrong re: the cause & effect here, but I want to believe that Beard has nuked this conference back to the stone age, which is exactly where he wants it.
